This is one of only two properties in Norton County listed on the National Historic Register. The Norton County Community Foundation agreed to match the $25,000 grant, if funded. This $50,000 is expected to cover the cost of materials and we plan to complete the project with volunteer labor. The progress is very impressive for those of you who may have seen the building before the cleanup began.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yet,there remains much work to be done upstairs and in the basement of the former K&amp;amp;S Center Cafe portion of the building.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks to the generousity of the Norton County Community Foundation, Mid-Continental Restoration is repointing the brick on the Heaton building, bringing it back to its original splendor. Please meet at the southeast door of the building immediately south of Whitney Law Office.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We have made much progress in the past two workdays, three dump trucks worth. This Saturday, we will need people to carry construction demolition materials and other rubbish to the dump trucks and others to sweep and rearrange the items that may have worth. There are dust masks and gloves available. We will also need additional brooms and shovels.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thank you for your consideration.
